The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) was launched in 2019 as an initiative to stimulate economic growth in rural and northern communities across Canada. The program provides an opportunity for permanent residence for skilled workers who are interested in living and working in one of the participating communities, which includes Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, and Yukon.
RNIP is designed to help employers fill labour shortages with qualified workers and to create more opportunities for immigrants to become permanent residents. The program is a win-win situation, providing a much-needed labour force while helping immigrants achieve their Canadian dream.
